Sarah comes to ICE with a teaching and counseling background. She is currently the Network Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Coordinator for Distinctive Schools, a network of public charter schools in Chicago and Michigan. Through her expertise as an educator and school counselor, Sarah is able to personalize SEL support for all students within the Distinctive Schools network. As the ICE Hockey Club Assistant Director, Sarah uses her extensive experience as a previous AAA and women’s college hockey player and girl’s hockey coach to create a program that is both challenging and fun for players of all levels. Sarah also serves as the program’s Registrar, overseeing the background and coaching certifications of all ICE coaches and tutors. Sarah has collaborated with fellow ICE Board and Auxiliary members to provide SEL support for players as well as design a player and family survey that analyzes the impact that the ICE program has on participants.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband Josh and their daughter Ellie. Together, they enjoy exploring Chicago, trying new restaurants, going to the zoo and parks, reading, and watching the Blackhawks.
