Brad Erickson, ICE Program founder and Executive Director, is the originator of the ICE Program concept and has worked full-time for ICE since May of 2015. He has played hockey for 45 years, coached low-income, inner-city players in Chicago for over 20 years, and coached travel hockey for 12 years. Brad was the recipient of the Jockey “Everyday Hero” award (December 2017), the Harris Bank/Chicago Blackhawks “Coach of the month” (February 2009) and the Northwest Hockey League / Chicago Jets Coach of the Year (2003-2004). He is deeply proud of the ICE Program’s growth, profoundly thankful for its many volunteers, and intensely passionate about enriching the lives of the children ICE serves. He is also proud to be an Associate Member of the Chicago Blackhawks Alumni Association, which also does excellent work in the Chicago hockey community. Brad lives in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood of Chicago.
Fun Fact: Brad is the Vice President of the largest competitive cycling team in the midwest, xXx-Racing Athletico. Competing in road, cyclocross and track racing, he was the 2018 Category 4 Ed Rudolph Velodrome Rider of the Year.
